RAMAGA was established in 1968 to provide friendly competition and social interaction through golf tournaments and other related activities for members. We cater to the average golfer who is interested in a fun, yet challenging, round of golf. Our members cover a wide range of handicap indexes, from the low single digits to the high 20s. All of our tournaments are fully handicapped, so everyone plays on a level field and competes as equals.
RAMAGA sponsors an annual series of member tournaments at various 18-hole golf courses in the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area. For a complete listing of our tournaments, see our Tournaments page elsewhere on our site. Tournaments are run on an "ala carte", or pay-as-you-play, basis. This allows each member to choose the number of tournaments that best fits his schedule. Some are fun tournaments, like a four-man scramble, a modified Stableford, or a 6x6x6 tournament, and others are flighted, individual stroke-play tournaments. A two-day stroke-play club championship tournament is held toward the end of the golf season. All tournaments are played on a random-foursome basis, meaning that you have the opportunity to play with different club members at each event. There are no regular foursomes allowed.
We also offer a season-long single-elimination Individual Match Play Tournament and Partners’ Match Play Tournament for those members interested in match play. We can even assign a partner for you if you are interested in participating in the Partners' Match Play Tournament.
The tournament entry fee for all tournaments is $10 per tournament, except for the club championship tournament, which has an entry fee of $20. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place for each flight in each tournament and are paid in the form of Golf Shack gift certificates.
We don’t care whether you are a scratch golfer or a golfer who scratches; we welcome all golfers at all skill levels. We’re out to have fun, above all.
